Ever leave church saying that… “That was GOOD!” I do. And I did last Sunday. And it was so good that I wanted to share it with you all. So, married friends, if you want to hear an excellent sermon on relationships, you should listen to this. It’s something I had never heard before and it totally changed my view on my own marriage and husband and it, well, as Pastor Dan says, it blew me up. :) So, if you have some free time, maybe during naps or whatever, you should listen. Missouri Sunset August 30, 2009
At the end of May Geric and I went to Missouri to go to a marriage retreat. I wouldn’t say it was fun, but it was intense and really, really good for us. I didn’t take a lot of pictures, because like I said, our days weren’t filled with lounging on the beach and sipping pina coladas. But I did take this one picture from our room one night as the sun was setting. Looks like a postcard, doesn’t it?

Last Saturday Geric and I went to the Chris Tomlin concert. We got each other tickets as our Valentine’s Day present to each other. We had so much fun! Chris Tomlin is one of my favorites.
The concert was at the ampitheater in Universal Studios, so before the show we ate at Bubba Gumps on Citywalk. Here’s Geric looking like Forrest, Forrest Gump.
Then we strolled though Citywalk and took some pictures of ourselves. Aren’t we cute?
Then it was off to the concert. The opening act was Israel Houghton. He was awesome. I guess he’s the worship leader at Joel Osteen’s church (he’s on TV.) He was so good.
Then came Chris Tomlin. I LOVE that guy, probably a little bit more than I love Matt Lauer. That’s big. It was pretty exciting because they were filming the concert for his DVD, although we probably aren’t on it becuase our seat were crap suey. But it was still exciting.
A couple of moments that were especially awesome for me was when Chris was talking about going on tour and visting all these different countries and how he translated one his songs into the languages of those countries and how as people (not just Americans, or Brazilians, or Russians) we’re all worshipping the same God. That’s so big when you think about it, you know? It’s awesome.
Something else that I wanted to share with you all is the project that he is promoting that you may (or may not) have heard of. It’s called One Million Can. It’s really cool because they’ve singled out different issues in third world countries that really need to be fixed and they’ve calculated how much of a difference one million dollars can do. It’s huge!!! For example, did you know that there are 2 BILLION people in the world that don’t have access to clean water. 2 BILLION??!?!?! That’s a lot of people. But for only $4500, they can build a well that will give access to clean water to 700 people. That’s just one of the issues. They are also helping child sex slaves, children who were forced to be soldiers in Uganda but are now orphans, life altering surgeries. I could go on and on. Anyway, you should check it out and if you have a few extra bucks, help out.
So yeah, the concert was amazing and my husband was super fun to hang out with. I love him… way more than Chris Tomlin or Matt Lauer!
