Ever leave church saying that… “That was GOOD!”  I do.  And I did last Sunday.  And it was so good that I wanted to share it with you all.  So, married friends, if you want to hear an excellent sermon on relationships, you should listen to this.  It’s something I had never heard before and it totally changed my view on my own marriage and husband and it, well, as Pastor Dan says, it blew me up.  :)  So, if you have some free time, maybe during naps or whatever, you should listen.  I can’t figure out to link it directly to my blog, so click here (on water of life’s homepage), then go to sermons and click on October 25th.  You can even watch it on video, which is really good for people like me that are not auditory learners.  So, enjoy.

“Look Mom, I’m Mickey Mouse!”

Wanna see the coolest thing I’ve ever done?  Okay, birthing my boys was probably the coolest thing I’ve ever done, but this was a lot less painful.  Anyway, I didn’t take any pictures, so if you want to see it, click here!

Caden picked the theme for this family night.  He said he wanted to do crocodiles, so we went for it!

In the afternoon, we prepared our desserts for the night, crocodile rice krispie treats! We put green food coloring the marshmallows and we put corn flakes in the with the rice crispies to make the crocodile more bumpy.

Afterwards, the boys went outside to swim and be crocodiles in the lagoon.

I told them how crocodiles keep their whole body underwater and stick their eyeballs above the water to watch for food and enemies.

For dinner, we ate crocodile food. I know this is a stretch, but we had frozen shrimp in the freezer and I thought that crocodiles on the bayou probably eat crawfish, which are kinda like a shrimp’s brother, right???  And we ate trees from the swamp!

Our beverage was swamp sippers.  We froze gummy worms in green ice cubes and put them in the murky colored lemonade!

After dinner we did a dinosaur floor puzzle together, which is like a crocodiles brother, right?  So much fun!

When we swim Caden always says, “Make my towel looks like yours.”

For Caden’s birthday, my mom and dad got him a 6 month membership to the Little Gym. He loves it! We go to gymnastics on Monday mornings and Geric takes him to karate on Thursday afternoons. Here’s some pictures from his first day! (And even though from the pictures it looks like he’s the only boy in his class, he’s not.  That would be sad.  I’m all about separation of the genders!  J/K!)

He kept looking back at me every time he did a trick! So cute! I got all teary eyed. I love that kid!

I’m not sure what inspired this since we’re not really sporty people. I mean, Geric surfs and watched the occasional football game, but part of the reason I married him is because I knew we wouldn’t be spending hours in front of the television watching something that involves a ball. But since it is baseball season (right?) we decided to have Baseball Family Night!

During the day, the boys and I made these visors to wear at dinner. (They totally reminded me of ACE softball… Mindi and Stef, remember the visors were the conversation piece that led to our beautiful friendship! )

For dinner we had hotdogs and cracker jacks (and asparagus) because that’s good old fashioned baseball food. The boys were very unimpressed with the piece of paper that was the prize in the cracker jacks bag!

After dinner we played baseball in the living room. (We did this during the fires and it was too smoky to play outside.)

For dessert we made cool-a-coo’s, which, to me, are the biggest reason one should go to a baseball game, live and in person. Yummy!

The last week of August marks the birthdays of Geric, my sister in law, and my father in law. (I think my mother in law must’ve lost her mind every year at this time when her kids were young… I would have!) SInce money is tight for everyone, we decided to go out for pizza and ice cream. At the end of the night we took some pictures.
