This is what happens when you leave your eyeliner on the counter in the bathroom.  The boy turns himself into spiderman.  Although that dimple on his his chin looks a lot like Buzz Lightyear to me!

My boys LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the garbage man.  When they hear the loud truck on Thursday mornings, they race to the window to watch.  So, when we heard the giant loud truck on a morning that wasn’t a Thursday, they nearly spilled their oatmeal on their laps running to see what was going on.  I let them sit on the front porch to get a better view of the action.  And they decided to wear hats, just cuz.

I think they were actually pumping something out of the sewer. Interesting…

There he is!

Caden celebrated his GOLDEN birthday this year!  Golden because he turned four on the forth.  Only happens once a lifetime, you know?

The day before his actual birthday presents arrived from Grandma Gigi!  So we had to open them… there was no waiting one more day!

The next morning he opened presents from Mommy, Daddy, and Jacob.

It was a Leapster!

He decided to have a Buzz Lightyear birthday party, so we made his wish come true.  Here’s the spread of food.  I tried to recreate all the toys from the movie, but forgot Woody at home!  Silly me!

Here’s his cake… that I made.  (I just blew steam on my fingernails and wiped them on my shirt.  What does that mean?  Why do people do that?)  It’s a rocket with Caden in one window and Buzz and Woody in the others.  At first he wanted Buzz and Jacob, but at the last minute he wanted Woody instead.  Brother out, Woody in.

We had a treasure hunt where Buzz wrote us a letter about a star being stolen by the Evil Emperor Zurg and it was our mission to retrieve it and bring it back to the Gamma Quadrant of Sector 4.   After a bunch of clues, we found it!  And then we hit it with a stick until candy came out.

And then Caden blew out his candles and opened some presents.

And then we bounced.

It was a GREAT day!

P.S.  It was my birthday too.  It wasn’t golden.  I turned 31.  Now I have crows feet when I smile.  (Why crow’s?  Maybe it should be dove’s.  They’re prettier.)  Here’s my mom and I.  Geric got me a new outfit.  The sweatshirt is part of it.  Sidenote: if your due date is on your birthday, try to induce labor early.  Sharing your birthday is not as fun as it sounds.

We’ve had some MAJOR blog backup going on over here!  MAJOR!!  I’ve just been a total neglector of this here blog, and lazy about uploading pictures, and really, really busy with life.  Raising two boys, working part time, leading Bible study and Momtourage… sorry blog, you’re at the bottom of my priority list.  It’s just the way it has to be.  (If you’ve watched Monster Inc. one hundred thousand times, like me, you realize I just quoted a major character.  Pop quiz… who?  I like games.)  But after finally uploading some pictures, I realize I have 11 posts that need posting!  So, I’m gonna do one a day for the next 11 days, and hopefully get all caught up.  So, consider this your laxative, Blog, and let’s get movin’!   WARNING: I’m about two months behind so you will be seeing Halloween pictures.  :)

Ever leave church saying that… “That was GOOD!”  I do.  And I did last Sunday.  And it was so good that I wanted to share it with you all.  So, married friends, if you want to hear an excellent sermon on relationships, you should listen to this.  It’s something I had never heard before and it totally changed my view on my own marriage and husband and it, well, as Pastor Dan says, it blew me up.  :)  So, if you have some free time, maybe during naps or whatever, you should listen.  I can’t figure out to link it directly to my blog, so click here (on water of life’s homepage), then go to sermons and click on October 25th.  You can even watch it on video, which is really good for people like me that are not auditory learners.  So, enjoy.

“Look Mom, I’m Mickey Mouse!”

Wanna see the coolest thing I’ve ever done?  Okay, birthing my boys was probably the coolest thing I’ve ever done, but this was a lot less painful.  Anyway, I didn’t take any pictures, so if you want to see it, click here!

Caden picked the theme for this family night.  He said he wanted to do crocodiles, so we went for it!

In the afternoon, we prepared our desserts for the night, crocodile rice krispie treats! We put green food coloring the marshmallows and we put corn flakes in the with the rice crispies to make the crocodile more bumpy.

Afterwards, the boys went outside to swim and be crocodiles in the lagoon.

I told them how crocodiles keep their whole body underwater and stick their eyeballs above the water to watch for food and enemies.

For dinner, we ate crocodile food. I know this is a stretch, but we had frozen shrimp in the freezer and I thought that crocodiles on the bayou probably eat crawfish, which are kinda like a shrimp’s brother, right???  And we ate trees from the swamp!

Our beverage was swamp sippers.  We froze gummy worms in green ice cubes and put them in the murky colored lemonade!

After dinner we did a dinosaur floor puzzle together, which is like a crocodiles brother, right?  So much fun!

When we swim Caden always says, “Make my towel looks like yours.”

Makes me laugh every time I see it!

For Caden’s birthday, my mom and dad got him a 6 month membership to the Little Gym. He loves it! We go to gymnastics on Monday mornings and Geric takes him to karate on Thursday afternoons. Here’s some pictures from his first day! (And even though from the pictures it looks like he’s the only boy in his class, he’s not.  That would be sad.  I’m all about separation of the genders!  J/K!)

He kept looking back at me every time he did a trick! So cute! I got all teary eyed. I love that kid!
