Last weekend Geric and I left the boys with my mom and dad and headed up to Tahoe to watch one of my best friends get married. I’m just going to be honest here and admit that part of me was dreading the trip. Not because I don’t love Alisha with my whole heart, because I really, really do, but mostly because I was 35 weeks pregnant and going ANYWHERE (much less an 8 hour car ride) just sounds dreadful. And she had forewarned me that our rooms were small (prison cell small, people) and we were sharing a bathroom with four other couples, which is just awkward, right? I’ll answer for you… yes, yes it is.
BUT, we ended up having such a good time! It was nice to have alone time in the car and the prison cell (I mean room at the lodge) with Geric and the shared bathroom gave us some good laughs. And who doesn’t like laughing with their husband? I do!
Since I was in the wedding Geric was in charge of the camera. Here’s some pictures from the ceremony. You can’t tell from the pictures, but it was freezing! Like, don’t flick me, I might shatter into a million pieces, FREEZING. Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating, but I’m from Southern California… anything below 70 is freezing.
Andy and Nick played some tunes before the nuptials. It really wasn’t sunny so I’m not sure what the sunglasses are about. But they look cool, right?
Kevin and Jeff shared wedding duties. Is anyone else wondering where the other half of Kevin went? Seriously, he’s wasting away! Someone get him a piece of fried chicken for heaven’s sake!
Out came the bridesmaids escorted by the groomsmen. The cobblestone path was kinda slippery, so the men served as stabilizers.
I was the chubby one. See? I’d like to blame the altitude, but I think I may have eaten the other half of Kevin.
Then came the cute little ring bearer and flower girl.
And finally, the bride. Isn’t she GORGEOUS?!?! I mean, come on.
Apparently Ryan is the emotional one… kinda like me and G.
The view was BREATHTAKING!!! The most beautiful wedding venue I’ve ever seen.
The vows and the rings.
Yay! We’re married!
Kissing the bride!
The happy couple.
Those are all the pictures we got. The reception was great. By then my ankles were swollen beyond all recognition and while dancing really, really looked like fun, every fiber in my body was screaming, “Don’t do it!” So I didn’t.
It ended up being such a great weekend and I’m so glad that I was able to be there and be a part of everything. I just love my little Pup! (That’s what I call Lish.) AND we got an added bonus on the ride home! It’ll be a surprise post for tomorrow! I know, I’m such a tease, but don’t lose sleep over it. You’ll find out soon enough.
